The Gaming Directorate of the Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM), with Resolution No. 594211 of 17 September, announced the awards of the concessions for remote gaming collection, provided for by Article 6 of Legislative Decree No. 41/2024. 41/2024. Following a lengthy and complex investigation and in full compliance with the regulatory deadlines, 52 concessions were awarded to 46 operators. The awarding of the concessions will generate tax revenues of €364 million, an amount greater than all analysts expected and in line with the Agency’s forecasts. The concessions were awarded to the largest and most important operators worldwide, demonstrating the importance of the online gaming market in Italy and the quality, certainty, and security of the regulation and regulatory framework, thanks in particular to the recent approval of the online gaming reorganization legislation. The successful bidders will now have 35 days to submit the documents required by the Administrative Rules of the tender and to pay the first installment of the one-time payment, amounting to €4 million per concession. The Gaming Directorate expects to conclude the procedure with the signing of the concession agreement by November 12, thus allowing the new concessions to take effect from November 13.
